It contains funny animal stories. It was the Golden Age of Comics. Every week new publications would warp the minds of our youth, destroy (or save, depending on your point of view) the culture of America, and drain hard-earned dimes from the pockets of young boys and girls. A glorious time! Now you can enjoy again - or, for the first time The comic reprints from are reproduced from actual classic comics, and sometimes reflect the imperfection of books that are decades old
The comic consists of different segments. They were solid enough for slap stick style comedy in the 1940s that's not Looney Tunes.
Best segments are the ones that are less story heavy like Bernie the Fox. Super Mouse was the best one, though be aware that it has super outdated black face during it for a single panel.
Basil the Bold is kinda unique back then, being a medieval time period cartoon. Not many of those was a thing at the time like it.
I swear they made the Jack Rabbit character just to compete against Bugs Bunny since both act identical, and talks the same way. They even ripped of Tortoise Beats Hare from 1941 in Real Funnies #1 in 1943. The resemblance is uncanny with many gags being identical to each other, so I imagine the Jack segment along with the whole comic possibly lifted elements from Looney Tunes also.
If you're willing to spend a few hundred on it from Ebay, or to go back in time to 1943 and buy it for like 10 cents, go for it.
