From USA Today bestselling author Elle Christensen comes a military, forbidden romance, with a wounded ARMY Ranger who falls for his best friend's sister. Jordanna
My brother’s best friend was officially off duty… and off-limits.
The wounded soldier had scars that couldn’t be seen, and it was my job to help him heal, not fall for him.
Ransom Parker was as grumpy as he was gorgeous, but that didn’t stop the sparks from flying between us like the Fourth of July.
He could push me away all he wanted, but in his arms was the only place I wanted to be.
Ransom
When I let my best friend drag me to a meeting, I wasn’t sure what to expect. It sure as hell wasn’t feelings for the group therapist… his sister.
I might have been a decorated sniper in the ARMY, but when it came to matters of the heart, I was shooting blind.
Jordnna Bensen deserves better than what I’ve become. Her own brother told me so. Letting her in meant exposing demons I’d rather keep buried.
She’s so damn determined to save me. But I would do anything to keep her safe. Even let her go.

I’m a lover of all things books, a hopeless romantic, and have always had a passion for writing. Between being a sappy romantic, my love of an HEA, my crazy imagination, and ok, let’s be real, my dirty mind, I fell easily into writing romance. I’m a huge baseball fan and yet, a complete girly, girl. I’m an obsessive reader and have a slight (hahaha! Slight? Yeah, right) addiction to signed books. I’m married to my very own book boyfriend, an alpha male with a sexy, sweet side. He is the best inspiration, my biggest supporter and the love of my life. He is also incredibly patient and understanding about the fact that he has to fight the voices in my head for my attention. I hope you enjoy reading my books as much as I enjoyed writing them!
...he is hers.... completely. Ransom may be a little damaged but he definitely not as broken as he thinks he is, I love that seeing J again reminds him of the man he was but also makes him think about the man he wants to be going forward. Jordana is awesome, I want to be her when I grow up! She is full of life, passionate but not judgemental nor is she clingy. She kicks ass with the best of them but needs Ransom to be her safe place and doesn't hesitate to admit it. I loved this and look forward to reading Colton and Lindsay's story too. I read this on Kindle Unlimited.
Different cover from Amazon (as of June 2023) HEA Standalone, interconnected characters with other books by the same author, and part of series by different authors about military and/or first responders *over 18 readers only * Brother's best friend, 9 yr age-gap
Trigger warnings PTSD Military injury and death in combat Attempted Kidnapping
Ransom met a woman and had an amazing ONS, only to wake up alone and with a fake number. Time passes. He's injured and temporarily paralyzed during combat. Once he recovers, he has to work on his PTSD symptoms. Jordana is a clinical psychologist. Her brother, Quill, was with Ransom when they were both injured. Quill has been trying to get Ransom to join therapy when Jordana comes up with a reason. When Jordana and Ransom meet at the therapy session, he realizes she is the woman from that ONS. Things kick off from there. Someone from Ransom's past is after him, trying to get to him by hurting her.
There were a couple of typos. But the plot was there and executed well. I loved how the mfc was able to protect herself when being attacked. She wasn't a typical damsel in distress.
I’m attending a large book signing event this upcoming spring and hadn’t read any of this author, Elle Christensen’s, books. This military book snagged my attention while browsing the authors page. This is a short read book/tale, giving a faced paced romance vibe. Ransom and Jordana have an immediate connection and quite a spicyyyyy connection may I add. The book also has a suspense aspect to it that lives of soldiers have to endure even past their military service on top of the mental burdens many warriors carry. It was a great read and I really enjoyed this book- I’m excited to read more from this author!
🧡 standalone series: Line of Duty This book is 1 of 9 books by 9 different authors are bringing tales of courage, valor, and sacrifice. These warriors carry their scars with pride and have given their all in the Line of Duty.
OMG this was so good! The h in this book was kick a**! Prob one of the best I have come across in awhile. She was smart, strong, independent,, sassy and had mad skills! Loved the H and the fact that he was not afraid of loving a strong woman. This was a short novel but so well done. Loved the h’s brother and her family. This was witty and the suspense well done. I will def read more from this author
This one starts with a meet cute, some 🔥🔥🔥, and a rollicking good time! Ransom & Jordana's story is fun, with some heavy, and a dash of suspense to boot!
I love the way these two navigate and communicate! And Jordana ia a BA!! She can kick booty. I also love Quill, even when he's grumpy with his friend and sister. 🤣 And Colton & Linds have cameos (from Say Yes)!!
In the Arms of a Soldier: Random has nightmares from his last mission and he is no longer in the service. He still thinks about the one who ghost him. His best friend and brother in arm is worried about him because he doesn't get out because he doesn't being around people. Ever since what happen to him on the mission. The Quill talked him into going to one of the meetings. When he got there he couldn't believe who he saw. It was a great story.
I absolutely love the newest book in the Line of Duty series. This book gives us Jordana and Ransom's story. They had a rough start, especially because she is his best friends sister, I love how Jordana gives Ransom the way to find the light again. I'm such a huge fan of every book this author writes, and their story was absolutely perfect.
That was my favorite story from this series.. They were all great, but Ramson and Jo Jo really stole my heart. They got over their misunderstanding with a single conversation. Then went on to have an easy relationship. The angst was scary as hell but ending won out. All their babies were freaking adorable to read
Wow. While fast paced and short, this story got me really good. I swooned and laughed and even cried. A one night stand that ended with a misunderstanding. A second chance that went dangerous and finally a happy end with more swoon. Well done and a wonderful quicky to start a vacation day with.
Ransome and Jordana's story was beautiful and sexy. I love that Ransome wasn't threatened by Jordana's extensive education and knowledge of his condition. The characters were brought to life perfectly by Lu Banks and Steve Taylor. Please could you record more of your books as audiobooks please, Elle.
Elle Christensen you are absolutely amazing at writing!!!! Ransom and Jordanas book was so sweet and spicy!!!! It was really hard to put down and I can’t wait to read more from you!!!
I really enjoyed this story. The way Ransom and Jordana were so closely connected but never met was great. I liked Jordana's strength and Ransom's vulnerability. They made a great team.
More of a novella than a full length romance, this is still a lot of fun. The hero is unusual in that he trusts his lady to look after him and isn't to proud to let her do so. She is strong and knows her own mind. I enjoyed this one.
Great story line and Characters. Ransom and Jordana’s love ❤️ story is so different. The way they find each other and then lose each other and find each other again is great.
Enjoyable read even with the distressing theme which is well dealt with. Liked the strong female lead and her ability to cope with whatever got thrown at her. Good alpha male who recognised quality in her and enjoyed the journey as well as the sibling comic interactions.
As with all of Elle's books, this one was short, sweet, and involved the right amount of action, mystery and banter along with spice and heartwarming moments.
I am very disappointed in the amount of grammar errors in this book. This is not the usual standard from this author. Loved the story but the amount of errors really took away from it
