Garden Adventure, How A Solar Water Heater Works

Rate this book
The Objective of the book is to teach children between ages of 5 and 12 how a solar water heater works. This is done by cleverly interweaving the science of solar water heaters into an interesting story with animated characters and lighthearted dialogue. The book tells a story of children in a garden chatting. The issue of solar water heater comes up and the one of the children asks the oldest how a solar water heater works. Instead of answering the question directly the eldest child looks around the garden to find a variety of object to use as analogies in a game of questions and answer. The conversation leads to one of the children learning about how black objects get hotter in the Sun by touching a can which has black paint spilled on it. The use of analogies continues in during the lighthearted exchange until the complete concept of a solar water heater is discussed and deduced. The publication can also be used as a coloring book.
