Telling one's life stories can be a voyage of self-discovery, freeing up images and thoughts that have long remained hidden. Bernard Selling shows new and veteran writers how to deal with the fear of writing: recall childhood events and important life experiences; find their authentic writing "voice"; and use techniques such as narrative, dialogue, and inner monologue to bring stories to life. --From Amazon.
This was mainly a book on how to teach younger students to write life stories. That is not to say that it couldn't be useful, but the techniques seem awfully simplistic (use only present tense, be in the moment, et cetera). It might be helpful in certain circumstances, but if everyone wrote like this, life would be damned boring.
