This book written by several professors from Northumberland University, in Newcastle, England. It is diffcut to read, as it seems to be a "publish-or-perish" book, and is written at the graduate-school level. It does have some interesting ideas, in it. It tells of the visual art of Newcastle, in fashion, architecture, and movies. It refers frequently to the Millenium Bridge and to the Angel statue in Gateshead. It describes the transition of Newcastle from an industrial city to a post-modern service-worker and party city.
