This manual will help the participant absorb and remember the abundance of material contained in the 16-hour Scripture From Scratch video program. Each of the 16 video sessions is filled to the brim with absolutely basic Bible, presented in a clear, easy-to-follow manner. There are no technical terms to terrorize! No assumptions of previous study! The Scripture From Scratch program is organized into four units: Unit 1 an overview of the Bible; Unit 2 an overview of the Old Testament; Unit 3 an overview of the New Testament; and Unit 4 an overview of the Gospels. Each unit contains four sessions. The Participant's Manual covers all 16 Scripture From Scratch sessions with the following material provided for each session:
Session Outline presents key ideas and information as well as space for the participant's notes.
Review offers an opportunity to review the information from each session.
For Discussion asks the participant to write any questions he or she may have. These questions and other topics become the basis for small-group discussion.
Follow-Up Activities suggests reading and activities for further study. The manual concludes with an up-to-date bibliography. All of these components are designed to reinforce what the viewer has learned at each session. Writing down what he or she has learned within 20 minutes of hearing it has proven to be a good method of retention. Small groups give each person an opportunity to voice concerns. Large groups help solidify and make clear the subject under discussion. The weekly activities will keep your interest ongoing, writes McNamer.
