Baseball Gold: Mining Nuggets from Our National Pastime

Rate this book
Even the most ardent baseball fan will be amazed at the quirks, quips, and comments in Baseball Gold . Consisting entirely of bits and pieces of baseball’s offbeat history, this volume covers teams and a myriad of players, owners, managers, and broadcasters—from their exploits on the field to those behind clubhouse doors. It can even be picked up in the middle and read backward—one nugget at a time.

Um, well, if we were mining for nuggets we need better miners. While a number of the facts/stories are interesting, I did have two issues with this book. First, a number of the items are listed more than once in the book, which means you need more editing. Second, a few items were incorrect, which is problematic. Perhaps these latter items were correct with the proper qualifications, however, these were not given. So would not really recommend.
