(rating a reflection of Descartes, and not Biffle, whose copy just happened to be my first reading of Descartes)...

Will always be one of my favorites because it was my first (as he is for most beginning in philosophy). Despite some logical inconsistencies, much can be built upon "I think therefore I am." Kudos also to Descartes for recognizing the need for God in understanding his relationship to reality.
