The Ghosts of Berlin - Images of a Divided City

Rate this book
Berlin was at the centre of two world wars and was until 1989 the potential flashpoint for a third.

Throughout the city are reminders of it's violent and turbulent past. This large format photo book shows the key locations in its history, as well as some lesser known ones.

The book should be of interest to anyone interested in recent European history, as well as tourists to the city, who want to see how Berlin has changed over the years and find locations not in the usual guide books.

Self published photo book. Good selection of images but the print quality is low and all images are black and white reproductions on matte paper so resolution is of poor clarity.

I am fascinated with Berlin and have a large collection of books about the city and its history. This picture book is just an amateur collection of photos taken by the author at some point in time and divided in chapters. The layout is very spacious and gives a feeling that the book could be filled with more photos or text. Anyway, I liked it, its makes my collection larger.
