I really enjoyed this book. Lived on Sky Edge when I was a child and I love local history books about this area. Well written and really interesting.

Fun read. Became extremely boggy about 3/4 of the way through. The murder trial was extremely hard to get through. The pace in the last couple of chapters was ideal though. Very exciting and informative. Needs references though please

The Sheffield Gang Wars

Interesting read with great descriptions of the old Sheffield gangs and the areas they controlled until the formation of the Flying Squad. The kindle version could do with further editing as there are many random punctuation marks and single letters throughout the text.

Being a Sheffielder I found this book highly fascinating to how rough "Little Chicago" was.

Engrossing and well-researched book by J P Bean, who was a friend.

Brings back the world of old Sheffield brilliantly, with some memorable characters such as the violent George 'Ganner' Whetwell.
