This is a very good book for starters. Either for those that are at the beginning of their career in hospitality (specially at management roles), or those that recently opened a hotel or B&B. It is a very easy reading, with lots of practical advice. For those that are in the market for a longer period or already have some experience, some chapters may look too basic, but still there will be interesting ideas to catch.

Started this book knowing nothing about running hotels. Finished this book knowing nothing about running hotels.

The chapters were full of ideas like: "you should know your customer" and a thousand non-prioritized tips and tricks that feel like the result of about 5 minutes of brainstorming. There were no examples or interesting stories (intentionally) no math to show where people can go wrong, and nothing specific for high ROI uses of time.

Stay away.

Well, this is the one must-read text from one of classes. I really appreciate that the author provides lots of the detailed, seemingly handy, and practical tactics instead of mere big-picture strategies as some of other hotel marketing books do. However, sometimes, it gave me this feeling while my reading that some of the sections in a chapter are not really or obviously related to each other, just like separate puzzles without a clue to connect them all together. Therefore, it's kinda hard to fully understand some of the chapters as a whole cuz some parts of it are just very isolated and separate.
