If you are familiar with the Suki Adult Novel Series, imagine John and Suki meeting on different terms. In this version of the 2030s, Suki is not a scientist, she is a companion who works for her mother Jung's party service and is at the top of her field. Her best friends, Patricia and Samantha, also work for Jung, but only during parties and they are married, to each other. Imagine a future where paid companionship is legal. Imagine a future where recreational drug use is legal. Imagine a future where people negotiate their own pay rates for any way they wish to sell their talents and services. Imagine a future where bill collectors are feared more than the government. Now imagine the characters from the first Suki Adult Romance Series living in that world. Not quite a Libertarian Utopia, not quite a dystopia either. Welcome to Suki's new world. Is it real, or is it just a dream? Full disclosure: I helped with character development in the original series. The same characters are used in this one, but the author changed the Suki character significantly and the others a bit. I did get to read stages of his progress and the outlines to the series before it was complete and was given a free proof after.
This series begins sometimes in 2030, at least two years before the original series began. Pay heed to the subtitle, it is quite different than the series I helped with, starting with Suki. She is no longer a PhD who occupies her ample spare time in the office of her mother's party planning business. She works in the business as a "companion," i.e., prostitute of the future. Just because it is legal and her mother provides a safe environment does not take away the emotional problems that people in that profession encounter. Suki is burned out at the top of her profession and needs stability. She finds it with John and they begin a casual dating relationship, sprinkled with sane-level bondage that they both enjoy. There is a looming danger. In the libertarian-leaning environment of the future, outstanding bills are a big deal and one is coming back to consume Suki.
