Because I am always looking for books that help bridge cultures, I picked this book up. The story is lovely but I feel it is hidden behind the overly simple drawings and the difficult to read font. The font does give a similar feel to the beauty of writing in arabic, which is what I suspect the publisher was going for. I would love to see this story retold with illustrations that reflect the beauty of handwoven carpets, the exotic, gorgeous buildings, colorful marketplace and a font that is easier to read.

I liked the simple illustrations, the unique font, and the concept behind the tale, but I thought the story itself could have been a little better or more descriptive.
