Selling more than 100,000 copies in its original edition, this revolutionary book shows how to create beautiful, well-made quilts with a sewing machine. Now updated and expanded to include the use of special machines, this book offers thorough instructions with outstanding examples. Includes both color and black-and-white photos, and diagrams.
The book contains lots of good starting info and some project inspiration (and some anti-inspiration, when I really hated the project ideas...) The section on corners and edges was particularly good. Some bits (photographing, ahem) were entirely out of date.
My biggest problem was that I have a fundamentally different approach to quilting than the authors. I don't believe new fabric - especially large pieces - should be used for piecing. Quilting is the perfect opportunity to make something beautiful out of rags and scraps, not an excuse to cut fresh fabric to ribbons...
Also, don't dedicate books to yourself, that's tacky.
I own a copy of this book and love it. I tore the house apart looking for it today and came up empty handed. So did I lend it or lose it. I it when that happens. There is so much really good information in this one.
