Very helpful, but the prose didn't exactly sing. Good balance between practical advice for how to use colours in interiors and a surprisingly detailed review of how it's been done through western history.

The best sentence, in the entire book (in my opinion) was regarding color in terms of it's hue impermenance before learning how to chemically induce colors to sustain over time in their true intensity, "...paints that proved fugitive, fading over time." I've never heard of paint or color being referred to as "fugitive."

I scanned a few plates of rooms that for some reason don't appear through Google.
