Welcome to the future! The year is 3025, and humans are fast becoming extinct. Nizhoni of Mojave Earth Clan knows her spirit guide will protect by giving her the power of the wolf. When she unwittingly bites another human, she flees.
Michael of the Air Clan has searched for the woman he calls Beauty; the one who turned him into a creature of the moon. When he finds her living among the Mojave, he believes he can finally claim her. There's only one problem. She's already married.
Together Nizhoni and Michael must battle her former lover, the Yee Naaldlooshi, or feared skin-walker. The fate of their love and humankind hang in the balance. If Beauty can't have her mate and save the world, she's going to be a real Beast.
Tina Holland was born in Frankfurt, Germany to military parents and is a self-proclaimed military brat. She has been writing since childhood and continues to love to tell a good story
Tina's debut book, The Pilot and the Pinup was released by Liquid Silver Books in 2005.
Tina is a member of RWA (RWAOL), Nice Girls Writing Naughty, F-M Word Weavers and Writers Zen Garden.
When Tina is not writing she can be found enjoying her hobby farm in North Dakota. It may seem like a desolate place but with her husband, horses, dogs and a cat, it's rarely lonely. It's the perfect fit for a wonderful imagination and an opportunity to be a little naughty.
Nizhoni is on a quest for her spirit animal but has fallen ill when Michael finds her as he is out hunting zombies. He takes her back to his cabin where she survives her illness but fears him. Both are instantly attracted to each other but do not know why. After making love Nizhoni is more afraid of Michael. She bites him then runs. Michael becomes a werewolf when the moon is full. He searches for Nizhoni but has had no success until he goes to Nizhoni's village where his sister is getting married. Now the two are faced with the fate of being mated but how does Nizhoni tell Michael she is already married?
I enjoyed this story. It was a very quick read. It is futuristic and part of a series but I had no problem figuring out what was going on without reading the first book of the series.
I liked Michael and Nizhoni. I liked Cammy who will do anything to get Doc to acknowledge her. The other secondary characters help move the story along. Limikkin, Nizhoni's husband, is a hiss-worthy villain. He I did not like.
I would like to read the other books in the series.
