Les Herméneutiques au seuil du XXIème siècle: Évolution et débat actuel

Rate this book
Chiefly contributions presented at a colloquium held May 3-5, 2001 in Crête-Bérard, Switzerland. Édité par Ada Neschke-Hentschke ; avec la collaboration de Francesco Gregorio et Catherine König-Pralong.

The twentieth century was characterized by the development of philosophical hermeneutics (M Heidegger, H G Gadamer, P Ricoeur, M Foucault). Now it is time to take stock of these developments and to map out the possible evolution of hermeneutics in the 21st century. This publication takes on the task: it retraces the course of hermeneutics from Wilhelm Dilthey to Michel Foucault. It demonstrates the diversification of hermeneutics into three main branches, whose differences of view have given rise to discussion. To stay creative, future hermeneutics will have to keep up the manner of discussion. This book contains contributions from researchers representing the whole varied field of human sciences: philosophy, history of philosophy, philology, art history, cultural anthroplogy and law studies.
