This is a little busy, but it's a good way for a child who is already speaking to expand his or her vocabulary. I wouldn't recommend for a younger child just beginning to learn words. The words are divided by scene; so, for instance, in the beach scene you would learn words such as towel, shell, beach, ocean, wave, lotion, etc. which may be picked out of the picture. Each picture also has a brief poem beneath, often asking he child to locate or count things. A particular teddy bear appears in every picture, tying them together. It's the kind of thing you might look at a page here or a page there once a day. I believe they are all nouns if I recall correctly.

My kids enjoy finding the hidden objects, and I love the vocab building. There are numerous ways to utilize this book. It absolutely serves as a fun learning tool for curious minds.
