The darling illustrations are the first thing you notice while reading this book. Now maybe it's because it's spring and I'm reading about a new little lamb, but the pastel spring color scheme really stood out for me. The yellow, blue, green, and purple hues nicely complemented the white and gray tones used in the lamb, sheep, and birds. I read the embossed hardcover version with small embellishments like flowers, birds, and lambswool and these details only added to the charm and gave a light and buoyant feel to this soothing story of never being too small to be helpful in an important way.

For me, the illustrations in this book are absolutely beautiful. They're very tranquil, focusing on shades of light blue and green. For the baby, the colours aren't vivid enough to capture his attention, but maybe that'll come as he gets older.

A good message about how anyone can help, even if others try to make you think you're not tall enough / strong enough / etc.

My only gripe is that Little Lamb was born the same day as all the events in the story. Couldn't she have been a bit older than that?

Amazing illustrations and book production bring this sweet tale to life.
Little Lamb, the smallest of the flock, wants desperately to help and be useful on the farm.
But Little Lamb is too small to be of any use at all.... or is that not quite so?
Determination, kindness and always wanting to help win the day in the end.
