Much like the book I read a couple months ago about Wisconsin cheese heritage, Hickman falls into the category of people who write books because they know a lot (perhaps too much) about the topic rather than identifying a need or interest in the subject. He really starts at the origins of both cheesemaking and the making of Britain itself. The book is split evenly between text and pictures, with about 1/4 of the text being informative, the other 3/4 descriptive.

Again, happy to know that passionate people can publish almost anything.
