Little Lion is chasing frogs again! And when he stops, he finds himself all alone. He sees some footprints. They could be his mom's, or a crocodile's, or even an elephant's! But how on earth will Little Lion find his mom when there are so many feet to follow?

This is great book to use during story time with children in your class. It is aimed at nursery and reception children. The story is about a little lion who wanders off a little too far from his mummy and gets lost. He meets a number of animals along the way that offer to help him find his mummy. However they are either too quick or swimming in the water or swinging in trees. Therefore the little lion finds it difficult to keep up with them. But at the end of the story the little lions mummy finds him by following his footprints.
It is a good book to use to describe different animals that live in the jungle. The class teacher can elaborate on the story by introducing other animals that the lion may meet. The little lion encounters these animals by following their footprints. This could be used to describe the different features of animals too, such as big feet, long toes etc. It is an excellent book to talk about feelings. Questions can be targeted at children to describe how the lion was feeling when he was lost and when he found his mummy. Above all it can be used to teach children not to wander off when they are out with their parents. Overall I like this book because it is very exciting story for children. It is colorful, fun and involves a nice adventure.
this is one of my favorite books. it is short and easy for young children to understand and catch on to. Rich in vocabulary and adjectives. will he find his mom?! they think. introducing feeling as well as relationships. can also be used to talk about animals of course, but what animals may you see in the jungle.
