Lovely local history of Grand Avenue, focusing on its origins, 60s-era decline, and revitalization through the 70s and 80s. Lots of fun colorful stories and interesting tidbits. Recommended if you’re into Saint Paul. However, this book didn’t make any effort to connect with a broader historical literature, ultimately limiting its scope.
