In Sickness And In Health

Rate this book
In this compassionate and heartwarming sequel to THE BREAKING POINT, author Maxine Billings tells how one couple's marriage is put to the test when one of them suffers a devastating loss. Darryl and Catina Jones have been floating on cloud nine ever since they met and fell in love. Now married and expecting their first child, there is nothing that can separate them from one another's love. Or so they think. But when Darryl loses both of his legs in a car accident, their lives are thrown into an emotional whirl. Feeling like less of a man, he can no longer give his wife the love she needs, deserves, and craves. But Catina vows to stand by her man even though he is no longer receptive to the love she obviously still has for him. He finally gains the strength and courage to move on with their lives. But she is now confronted with an obstacle that should be of lesser importance than the one they originally faced. How can she accept the answer God has given when it is not the one her heart desires? It will take a great deal of strength, love, and courage for her to accept the things she cannot change.

Maxine Billings is a native of Villa Rica, GA. She now lives in Temple, GA with her husband Tony and their children Natasha and Stefan.

Maxine has enjoyed reading and writing as far back as she can remember. During her summer vacations from school, she participated in the reading program at the local library and spent most of her time reading. She also likes to write poetry. In the tenth grade, one of her poems was published in a school anthology. She liked writing so much that she always wrote more on writing assignments than what the teacher required. One of her cousins used to tease her profusely because she always wrote so much when he only wrote what the class was told and got the same grade as her, an A. When he found out that she had become a published author, he told her that he was glad all that writing she used to do finally paid off.

Maxine loves to read and write wholesome stories that inspire people in positive ways and give them hope. When she isn't writing, she loves spending time in spiritual activities and with her family. She also likes to dance, listen to Jazz and R & B, and do container gardening.
