This book provides current research on the symptoms, challenges and current concepts of psychopathology. Chapter One reviews the stipulative definitions of poor and protective prognostic factors as applied in the field of clinical mental health. Chapter Two discusses the categorical and dimensional models of personality pathology and highlights the advantages and disadvantages associated with each perspective. Chapter Three investigates the association between the Dark Triad (DT) and early maladaptive schema domains. Chapter Four reviews the main instruments for assessing avoidance as well as treatment suggestions. Chapter Five addresses the intergenerational transmission of trauma (ITT). Chapter Six presents mental health intervention concepts on pre- and postnatal mental health. Chapter Seven focuses on the advances in the study of male psychopathy. Chapter Eight presents a relatively recent approach to help individuals deal with stress and achieve relaxation, and describes its application on two specific clinical conditions, i.e., perinatal mood disorders and eating disorders.

Jeremy Williams has a B.A. in History from Michigan State University and is currently pursuing an M.A. in African American Studies. He is the author of Detroit: The Black Bottom Community and has also published The Rise and Fall of Black Bottom, 1914-1951: A Social, Cultural, and Political Analysis of an African American Community in the Michigan State University Journal of History.
