Gives a detailed analysis into SIA's operations, human resource and training for its advantage in purchasing aircraft, while the industry is cut throat and tough to succeed. Looks into the SIA's overall corporate structure - where it is fairly self-sufficient, author applies various business frameworks such as the McKinsey 7S and the Porter's five forces to show how SIA succeeds. Story of SIA mirrors that of Singapore, where it is committed to excellence and will continue to stay at the forefront despite intense competition from budget and premium airlines.

This is a well researched book on Singapore Airlines. The authors have done a great job presenting their findings in a way that will appeal to academics, students of management and executives. Highly recommended.

The book gives a comprehensive idea about the structure of the airline industry. I read this after reading "Simply Fly", by Capt. Gopinath, and is a good book to be read after it!

On appearance it looks like a business case study book, on deeper introspection these situations can be applied to any business that you operate or work in. Service excellence goes way beyond any other mode. Customers are always first, production is a result of consumer demand. This book shifted my mindset in the way I adjust my produce and service offerings to those of the customer wants. One of the most insightful behind closed doors case studies that are easily applicable.

Nothing new, nothing inspiring. If you are keen in reading something about customer service, reading something else.
