Musical Games, Fingerplays and Rhythmic Activities for Early Childhood

Rate this book
For the pre-school and primary grades teacher, here is a new and unique collection of 132 musical singing games, chants, and fingerplays ready for instant use! All of these music activities were picked for their popularity and time-tested appeal with children. All involve some kind of action. And all help to build important organizational, expressive, and memory skills. For easy use, the game activities in each section are sequentially ordered and complete. Each one spells out appropriate age levels... specific educational benefits... any materials required... simple directions with illustrations... and music needed for the activity. Many also include helpful hints and variations. Guitar, autoharp, and piano chords are notated for all music, and most songs have no more than two or three chords. Tunes are also notated in a range comfortable for both children and adults. And nearly all lessons are complete on one page.

This book, published in the 1980s, has many songs that are still used today. However, the formatting is lackluster.
