This book is about my great-grandparents, John and Amelia Jacobson. Their lives began in Østfold, Norway in the mid-nineteenth century. In 1882, John left his family in Sarpsborg and traveled to Michigan to make a better life. Three years later, Amelia and their three daughters joined him in Michigan. This book comes out of my passion for family history and the belief that the stories must be shared if they are to be preserved.
