A classic tale written for the young reader as an introduction to the study of Shakespeare. The story is beautifully written and retain the intricacies and the complexities of Shakespeare's plots and characters. In this edition, changes have been kept to a minimum, the idiom used by the Lambs has been adapted in the light of modern usage which makes it ideal for today's young readers and a perfect introduction to the play.

This is a picture book edition of King Lear. I remember the illustration was indeed quite beautiful, but even though it was tweaked and filtered for younger readers... I still find the story depressing as fuck. I was so angry with the fact that my mom borrowed it from a library and made me read it. lol. It's just not something I would ever prefer. I've also been debating whether or not to add it to my "kids" shelf... man... I wouldn't want any kids to read this lmao. Alas... that's the target audience... so owells.
