Why is a grown man five-starring a nearly forgotten picture book from the 90s, you ask? Well, this was my favorite book when I was a toddler, and now my own little daughter pulls it off the shelf and brings it to me every night before bed. I’d say that qualifies as a pretty good book.

Here is another book by Kirsten Hall that has no official reading numbers, but this book is for little ones as it has very large text, and small snippets of sentences on each page. Here is the text from 4 pages:

Bunny, bunny,
soft and furry.
Bunny, bunny,
in a hurry.

There are 24 different words which are used. The most difficult of which are probably; friends, furry, hopping, hurry, soft, and thumping.

I really like this little book. Not so much as a practice reader but because the artwork is very sweet and there is a nice rhyme that little ones can easily learn. In addition, since this book ends with momma and daddy bunny putting the little bunny to bed this book could be used as a night time read.

The other use I find for this book is that would be a nice one to share with older babies and toddlers. Bunny is shown hurrying and hiding, and with animals such as chipmunks, butterflies, frogs, bluebirds, mouse, raccoon, owl, and even a possum.

So lots of versatility with this one. Practice reader, Naming book, Counting book, and night time read.

For those who are beginning to read, the story of "Bunny, Bunny", is a warm hearted children's book that tells a story of a Bunny and its adventurous full day. The book takes place in the Bunny's natural habitat and has warm bright colors that correspond with the bright and positive actions that occur through the book. There is rhyming that is incorporated along with a repetition of words and bright colorful pictures that show exactly what is written with the actions that are inside of the book. The book is easy to follow along and children will be able to increase their vocabulary and word choice after reading this book. The fun-filled day ends with the Bunny's and its loving parents getting ready to go to bed.

Reading this book "Bunny, Bunny" was playful and entertaining to follow along with the pictures that depicted the actions of the book. This children's book ends warmly with the sense of love and care from the Bunny's parents and gives leaves off with a happy ending for any one who reads the story.

I think my main gripe with this book was the fact that the rhyming sentences are broken into such small chunks per page. You barely have time to look at one picture before you have to turn the page to finish the line and it just was clumsy in that regard. The pictures were nice.

Favorite part: When it said "having fun" and the bunny rolled in the flowers and picked one! That was pretty!
