Effra Verse: 2015 Edition

Rate this book
WHAT IS POETRY? How is it defined? Within what parameters is it required to comply in order to satisfy the definition? Generally, it is expected to rhyme and to obey a strict meter. And this is, by and large, what is here. Blank verse is not an unknown quantity; some of which is also available within these pages. But, for the purist, don’t mostly we follow traditional lines. This collection comprise the works of nine authors who came together as a spontaneously formed group to explore, share and make poetry. The group’s common interest arose whilst using a social service mental health provision on Effra Road in Lambeth. The London borough council together with statutory bodies provided the facility which has undergone changes hindering the timely outcome of our enterprise until now. Originally, a modest photocopied in-house product for friends and family was the starting point. We rejoice, in this properly presented edition to be able to demonstrate that journeying the rigorous byways and traumas of mental distress cannot ultimately impede nor impair creative endeavour on the road to recovery. If you are empathetic to the needs and hopes of these travellers towards wellbeing, then this perhaps is the volume for you.
