I chose this as my second full-length novel to read in Hebrew, after ארבעה בתים וגעגוע (which I loved). Unfortunately, I found it a bit of a disappointment. All the characters sound the same, whether or not they come from different centuries, and all the action that might be of interest either fails to materialize or happens off-screen. The principal figures are artists, but the discussion is decidedly prosaic, whether the subject is how to further a career or how to get a relationship started. I eventually abandoned the book about halfway through. Had I tackled it in English, I probably would have seen it through to the end just to see how everything worked out, even though promising plot turns had already been dropped along the way. However, I just didn't love it enough to muddle through.

So... pretty much the same as the horses one, but a different time in history and the story is a bit different. But only in the details, not in the crux of it.
