Cozy and His Friends in Love: A Memoir of Young Love and Ambition in Wartime, 1941-1946

Rate this book
This is a booklength memoir of a romance between the two co-authors during WWII. Cozy was a student at Georgia Tech in Atlanta.. He met Rosy at a dance in the fall of 1943, and they dated a lot until Cozy’s graduation 20 days after D-Day. They continued to date by correspondence after Ensign Cozy was stationed at a Navy facility 1400 miles west of Atlanta. Rosy’s letters make up nearly half the book. The other half includes four of Cozy’s letters, plus his comments and explanations. All of this shows the couple warily edging towards marriage. The unexpected denouement is the book’s climax. Rosy’s letters are earnest, detailed, and sometimes complex, and are sprinkled with phrases of sincere affection. Cozy’s narrative is lighthearted and suffused with wry humor----– an enjoyable quick read. For those who want a more expensive version of the book from the Collectors Edition, complete with hard covers and dust jacket, call Cozy at 972-780-0038.
