This is a bit of a Romeo-Juliette romance, alas, Star-Crossed, as the title proclaims. At fifteen, Jessi was in love with the boy next door, Kale. When tragedy struck and Kale's brother drowns due to Jessi's sister's drunken deeds, their families are torn apart. Kale accuses Jessi of covering up for her sister, and that's the last they see each other. Now twelve years later, Kale and Jessi meet again, but neither are sure they can trust their hearts to the other for a second time. I enjoyed reading Kale and Jessi's journey to HEA.
