it's remarkable that what can seem to some to follow from platitudes (like that p holds because of that p) can be wrung out into such funny metaphysics. before worrying about properties or propositions or whatever, we should spell out the suppositions about representation that dig so hard into the tradition. i loved the paper by michael morris, it was the best thing i've read in a long time
