About the author

Jennifer Bassett has been a teacher, teacher trainer, editor, and materials writer, and has taught in England, Greece, Spain, and Portugal. She is the Series Editor of the Oxford Bookworms Library, and has written more than twenty original and retold stories for the series, including The Phantom of the Opera, One-Way Ticket, The President's Murderer, and William Shakespeare. Two of her adaptations, Rabbit-Proof Fence and Love Among the Haystacks, have won Language Learner Literature Awards, and three of her other titles have been finalists for the Awards. She has created a new sub-series called Bookworms World Stories, which are collections of short stories written in English from around the world. She has also written original stories for the English Today Readers and Storylines series. Jennifer is series co-adviser, with H.G. Widdowson, of the Oxford Bookworms Collection, volumes of unadapted short stories for advanced learners.

I'm shocked😱Oxford University made this all.For non-native speakers in English..!
The Writer of British Francis, I read in time not far the story (A little princess),So I liked her Fantasy ,and I liked the idea Children of orphans.For these reasons,I read the story .
This is story about little boy and rich.
Cedric his family rich, but because of the grandfather hates the Americans ,so cedirc don't know about this fact .
I remember in my age seventh, I saw anime(Japanese) boy Cedric or Lord Fauntleroy.

هذه القصة اقتبست من قبل اليابانيين باسم الفتى سيدريك أو اللورد فلومنتري ،ونحن شاهدناه بالدبلجة العربية باسم الفتى النبيل ، أنا لم أشاهده وأسعى لأن أراه حالما ينتهي المترجمون العرب من ترجمته.
ومثلما قلت في وقت سابق الكاتبة معجبة بفكرة الاطفال اليتامى الأغنياء ،مثلما ما فعلت مع قصتها السابقة الاميرة الصغيرة سارة كريو ،وهي معجبة جدًا بفكرة انتقال الطفل من البلد إلى آخر ،فسدريك ايضا جنسيته أمريكية وأصله من بريطانيا ،لذا بعد وفاة أبوه ،انتقل إلى بريطانيا لأنه الوريث الوحيد لجده ليكون إيرل(طبقة من طبقات النبالة وهي أقرب طبقة لملك )

Wasn’t sure how I missed this one as a kid or as a read aloud to my own kids. Sweet, but not as gripping as Secret Garden or Little Princess. Still, sweet story and characters and worth putting on a childhood reading list.
