Notes on Greek philosophy: From Thales to Aristotle

Rate this book
This volume has been prepared for the use of students in, and teachers of, ancient Greek Philosophy. These notes are a peculiar hybrid of two sorts of materials: a) information about Greek words, bibliography and cross-references; and b) lecture notes, i.e. mnemonic devices used to ensure that major themes and key concepts are covered in class. In a few cases, the notes include a translation of a passage that is essential to the course. The notes cover Pre-Socratic philosophy, and all the major works of Plato and Aristotle, with a special emphasis on the Ethics and politics of the latter.
