Gloria makes some outrageous claims in this book, which would have been easy to dismiss, except for the fact that she proves her stand on longevity by methodically pointing to what the Bible says. It is a clearly articulated book. I learned a lot and it definitely upended some of my thinking about life and living well!
I would highly recommend this book for every Christian, young and old. If you consider the Bible to be authoritative and the last word on any subject, then you will find it impossible to walk away from this book and say that it's not God's will for you to live long and live strong!

Although I didn't totally agree with the overall message, that we can live to be at least 120 years old, I did like the ideas that she presented to living a strong life. I did agree with her that our lives will be done when we have fullfilled our purpose on earth and God is "done" with us.

I liked how there were confessions at the beginning of each chapter and at the end of each chapter there were points to remember. When I listen to audio books sometimes my mind gets dragged away and I forget parts of what I've just heard. So the points to remember really helped me keep track of what was being said. At the end of the book there is a whole list of different Bible versus that talk about living long. I think that was kind of neat, that she was able to pull all of these versus together and put them in one place, as a handy reference (if you have the print version).

The writing was very good. It was so simple and had a good bit of humor included. I could really tell that Gloria had done her homework for this book, and the stories of centenarians were quite inspiring. But I think that living a long life is part of the makeup of her and her husband's ministry, so I would imagine she's been gathering this information for quite a while, not that it makes it any more or less inspiring.

The narrator did a great job reading. She had a Paula Dean quality to her voice. She just sounded like someone with so much love in her voice. It was more like listening to a friend talk that listening to an audiobook. I'm not sure if that was from the way the book was written, the narrator's voice, or a combination of the two (I'm leaning towards the later).

Overall I think this was a good one. I don't know that I would have picked it up on my own, but I'm glad I was given a copy.

If you are looking for inspiration and encouragement to help you in your walk with God as the years unfold then this book meets the bill. Written by a 'woman of faith' for over 40 years,it offers clear biblical insight, teaching and personal examples of God's plan for us to be strong and live long on the earth. I read it at a time of great physical challenge and struggle and it reignited my faith in how the Lord wants us to walk in His blessing and fullness all through our lives. We are not meant to just get by or dread the advancing years but to walk in Divine health and wellness so that we can help to fulfil His plans and purposes for our lives and minister into the lives of others too. Do read it and get your own faith stirred up so that you can begin to live the victorious life that Jesus died to give us.

This book came out forever ago but I was an immature Christian then. I didn't want to face the truth. In Christ, I can live forever and never die.

Did you know God intends for the lifespan of all who believe in Jesus to live 120 years?

Did you know that God doesn't appoint a day for anyone to die?

You can learn more about this based on biblical knowledge by reading Live Long, Finish Strong.

This book definitely exceeded my expectations. It is written in a style that is easy to follow and to understand. By living long the author is referring to living past 100 and by living strong she means fit physically mentally and spiritually. She uses bible references to prove that God intended His people to live long productive lives full of blessings. Each chapter follows His words on a topic related to a productive healthy life. There were some ideas that I hadn't thought of before, and some theology that I questioned and had to research for myself. I like a book that also challenges me and makes me think. This book is for anyone who wishes to live a long full life following God's plans.

A friend gave me this book and said it changed his life. Personally, I did not learn anything new and found it rather boring. The book is about how to live a long time but mostly through positive affirmation. However, there was one thing in the entire book that stood out to me -- maintain the attitude that you will live until you are done! Interesting concept.
