This is a very good phrasebook and dictionary, considering it's the only one on the market for Kurdish-Sorani (Central Kurdish). Most other resources out there are Kurdish-Kurmanji (Northern Kurdish). The opening section of the book gives a basic overview of Sorani grammar. The breakdown of the phrasebook is typical of the chapters used by other Nicholas Awde dictionaries & phrasebooks (Getting Around, Places, Emergency, Weather, Animals, War & Peace, etc.). The only con to the book is that it is written in romanized Sorani. You're going to have to look elsewhere for learning the modified Person-Arabic script used with this language.

I would recommend this to anyone wanting to learn Kurdish-Sorani. Thanks!

Fantastic dictionary for Sorani Kurdish! I enjoyed the short introduction at the beginning of the book, it was very informative. I didn't know there were three dialects of Kurdish!

The dictionary is very short and doesn't necessarily contain the most useful words, nor does it contain much in the help of pronouncing them!

However this is an excellent tool for people who wish to get started in learning Sorani or would like to examine Kurdish in general. I highly recommend it.
