Mateo ‘Chucho’ Sifuentes, illegitimate son of a Mexican mother and an English businessman on vacation, has to make his own way in the world. Abandoned by his father at a young age, Chucho earns a living in an upscale hotel until the death of his family, then he turns to prostitution. Later, sent to prison for a murder, he is discovered and recruited by an agent of a shadow branch of the United States government. Originally slated for assassin, Chucho becomes entangled in agency politics and nearly loses his life when he becomes the target of his handler’s revenge.
