Trish lives in Africa with her missionary parents. At school she's the only white girl - a 'white stranger'. Her friend Grace is far more confident than Trish, already a woman, and Trish longs to be like her. But when Grace invites Trish to visit her at home, she discovers just how much more grown-up than her Grace is, and just how different their lives are.
A astonishing book - I was definatly surprised. In my libeary there is a very small teenage section, so what you have is what you get. Im not into any partular genre, but this ones cover just seemed a bit odd. I can sya it isnt the best of covers, but it just shows dont choose a book by its cover. One of the true highlights of this book is that you can beleive it - even though its in a completely diffrent country and at least half the words they use every day you cant understand, you can still imagine how all the charcters feel about everything. You can relate to the shy Trice and the confident Grace - I only wished it was longer. I know I havent given you much to go on - but I strongly advise it. A great read with shocking results - CHA! :)
A weird but enjoyable book that contains twists and turns right up until the end. A quick, insightful read about a white girls struggle growing up in Africa although she has lived there her whole life. Compelling story.
