Stephen Blue’s The Awakening has seemingly faded into obscurity, but this work definitely has some merits. His black and white art has really interesting line work and hatching that works well for the tone of the comic. The story is quite simple, but there is passion throughout its pages. This is one of many books that are neither bad nor great, but Blue obviously put a lot of effort and heart into this work and it shows in every line of ink.
