1/17/21 - I'm not entirely sure what I was expecting or who the audience is (other than people from Colorado) for this book. There are WAY too many words on the page for it to be a picture book, and I think once a child got old enough to actually read it, they wouldn't want to pick up a book that is formatted like this. And I'm not sure, other than the characters are set in Colorado why this is a Colorado book. The signs are universally seen across the US.
My husband is a native of Colorado and he said he had heard at least the first story (that's all that I described for him) while he was growing up and he thought the book would be cute and fun.
I disagree, I thought the stories were forced to capture the sign. Just plain weird. When I said out loud that I didn't know the audience for this book, he suggested a parent on a road trip through Colorado could read the book to a child. I suppose that is valid, I just didn't enjoy it as an adult. Not entirely sure if we are going to keep this one for our grandchild or not...the jury is still out.

7/2024 update: my husband didn't want me to give this one up, so it is still on our shelves.
