This book is woefully inadequate for someone doing a deep dive into the US Presidents. I am reading through the presidents in order and it is difficult to find a good Franklin Pierce bio that is affordable and readily available. The book I wanted, Franklin Pierce: New Hampshire’s Favorite Son, is not available on Kindle or Audible and the cheapest I could find for $65 and the second book of that series was $45. No thanks. So the Steven Ferry book it is since I could check it out of Libby.
This book is 50 pages long and reads at about a 6th grade level. I breezed through it in an hour and can’t really remember much about it four days later. Too bad. 2 stars. Some day I will go back and read a different bio. Until then, on to President No. 15, James Buchanan.
