JEREMY. :) ALEX. :( HEATHCLIFF? Now that we're living in Hollywood, Eva thinks anything is possible - including casting the part of my boyfriend! As for the one's an actor (bad sign), one's a snobby rich kid (worse sign), and one doesn't even exist (stop sign). Guess who my sister picked?
Here are three clues to where author Mary Wilcox lives. Legally Blonde was filmed there. Sabrina the Teenage Witch was set there. Matt Damon was born there.
The Hollywood Sisters: Caught on Tape by Mary Wilcox 191 pgs. Delacorte Books for Young Readers $7.99 ISBN 978-0-385-90371-4
This book continues with actress Eva Ortiz from the Two Sisters set, continuing her lie of Heathcliff, her sister Jessica Ortiz's "boyfriend". First, it was Jeremy the actor. Then, it's Alex the snobby rich kid. Now it's Heathcliff, someone who isn't even real? What is Jessica going to do? Who is she going to "choose"? Or does she not even have a choice, and must do as is told?
Alex did like Jessica, but not until Jeremy thought he was Heathcliff. Jeremy went straight-up to him and called him Heathcliff, which is when Alex knew everything about her scheme and "broke-up" with her. After this situation, Alex got mad at her and didn't really talk to her, since she "lied" to him.
Besides only dealing with love problems, there are many distractions for them now that they're in Hollywood. There are people to avoid and mysteries to solve. There are tour buses surrounding the Ortiz's house and giving them shout-outs, which drives all of them crazy. No one knows who it is, and there aren't any clues even if the cops are involved in solving this situation.
I like this book because I want to know who Jessica "chose". This keeps my suspense going and this is what interests me. For me, this doesn't bore me at all and it helps me able to finish reading the book. Although one doesn't exist, it is a secret to others. No one besides the two sisters know that Heathcliff isn't real, and this is why it keeps me interested. I want to know who Jessica would choose.
Would she make her own decision, or follow the plan for the crisis that Eva had already created? Would she choose the one that she really truly loves? Would she choose someone that she doesn't like, but that he likes her? What will she do? Will she make this decision all on her own, or listen to someone else's "advice"?
Sisters Eva and Jessica Ortiz are back - and the drama never stopped.
Eva, thinking that she would help her sister out, cast auditions for her supposedly made-up boyfriend. Great, expect Jess had already told everyone that he WASN'T real. But that's not even the worst part. Alex Banks, the guy Jess went on ONE date with, seems to think that Jess still has something for him.
With all that going on, plus worrying about her new school, what's a girl to do?
CAUGHT ON TAPE, the third installment of THE HOLLYWOOD SISTERS series by Mary Wilcox, is probably the best yet. The romance has stepped up a notch, with Jess left to choose between two boys, one of whom isn't even supposed to exist. The added family (particularly sister) drama also gave the story an extra familiar feel.
Just as with the first two books, I would definitely recommend this to all pre-teen girls. It's the perfect book for an afternoon read.
