Magic Take-off

Rate this book
Bertie is so fat that people stop and point at him in the street and call him names. Then he meets Mr Platten, the owner of Pie Craft, who sends him to deliver some pies to Mr Gupta. Mr Gupta offers Bertie a potion to help him lose weight and soon he is too light to stay on the ground. He wants to be as he was before but although he eats and eats, he only just manages to keep himself from floating away. Mr Gupta seems to have disappeared and Pie Craft has been closed. A series of exciting and thrilling moments lead Bertie to begin to develop a new self.
