Civil War veteran and former schoolmaster Sherman Dahl rides the Southwest as a gun for hire. Known by both the law and the lawless as "The Teacher", Dahl sells his services to those seeking justice-and is relentless in his pursuit of wanted men.
Fighting men are men that fight because they are hired to do so. Sherman Dahl is one such man. He is hired by a rich man to kill those who killed his child. He tempts death, but wears a bulletproof vest as insurance. The action is fast paced. The characters well developed. The book is what you expect from Cotton. While he is no L’Amour, he is one of the best of the next generation.
