Thrills, adventure, and mystery await Rebel Stone and his parents who have just relocated to Morgan McGuire's mansion, a grey stone castle on a grassy knoll overlooking the Mississippi river. The castle is all theirs for the time being, except for the one room they are strictly forbidden to enter during their stay-a master suite that has been sealed shut for over one hundred years. No stranger to paranormal events, Rebel Stone is a ghost detective with over three years of experience in chasing spirits. When confronted by the dark forces within the mansion, Stone faces his ethereal challenges with the courage of a man. He eventually befriends the Ghost Whisperers, Stephanie and Agatha, and begins attempting to free their spirits. Local resident Becky Robinson steps in to help, and she and Rebel are swept along an extraordinary adventure where they encounter not only ghosts, but also outrageous animals, an invisible extraterrestrial presence determined to take over the planet, and a monster with an unquenchable thirst for power. Becky, Rebel, and the Ghost Whispers devise a plan that they hope will force the seemingly undefeatable extraterrestrials to leave the planet, returning the citizens of Shadowridge back to their former selves.
Walter was not always a writer, but his love of adventure novels began when he was very young.
He was born with a deep and profound love of nature. His mother rocked his cradle, but Mother Nature rocked his mind. Although he was raised in a large metropolitan city, at every every opportunity he would venture off exploring mountains, lakes, oceans and islands in a never ending quest for new discoveries.
Rouzer studied environmental resources and social work in college. Before becoming a writer he wanted to be a naturalist and a social worker. While in college he took classes in plant, soil, animal husbandry and other bio-earth sciences as well as studies in the field of sociology. He had fond memories tutoring inner-city kids as part of his off campus training. It was a fulfilling experience having the opportunity to make a positive difference in kid's lives.
"Rebel Stone and the Ghost Whisperers" took me back to my tween years. I am an avid reader and in jr high I would devour three to six books a day. Reading about Rebel Stone by Walter Rouzer reminded me how fun it is to just let your imagination run wild. I so forgot the thrill of expecting the unexpected.
So now I will advise you to let your own tween have a jolt through the walls of Morgan McGurie's Mansion. They will be off on an adventure learning to help challenge the dark forces (we all remember doing that) and learning that things are all topsey turvey. Of course the plant is saved and all is good in the world by the end of the book. But would we have it any other way?
I am not going to give away what happens. I did not expect the turn of events. And if a 40-something grandma can still hide in the covers of this book then your tween will too. Go visit "Rebel Stone and the Ghost Whispers" for yourself.
This cute book combines Aliens, Ghosts, a child detective, and some funny one liners. The story begins when Rebel places signs up in the neighborhood advertising his services as a ghost detective. Becky “hires” him help figure out the weird things happening in town. The aliens end up being body snatchers and the ghosts help save the day.
