This classic devotional from the best-selling author of "A Shepherd Looks at Psalm 23" surveys the ministry of Jesus Christ through both the Old and New Testaments. Keller begins with the Lord's role in creation and ends with His return as the conquering King.
An amazing and quite unique book, well worth the time to read.
It started for me with a blaze of glory as Kelleer spoke of 'the Christ' pre time's existance. He then shows the role of the Christ in creation, him walking/talking with Adam, and then the terrible pain and sorrow as the first couple disobey.
As the Christ comes one evening to fellowship with them, they seem to be missing..... The sense of terrible loss, but still the overwhelming love left me also overwhelmed. I thought the book to be a five star for sure.
The whole of the book is quite romanticized, which leads often to assumptions of events that I found not only disappointing, but often simply incorrect. I do reccomend the book none the less. It is very stimulating and leaves one with fresh views of Jesus time on earth
Starting the chapter as Christ is brought before the high priest. When reading what He went through to save me/mankind it hurts my heart and soul. Praise God for gift of salvation. I think it so right to finish this on Christmas Day as we celebrate Christ's birth and the gift of salvation He gave. This book spoke to me and I am sure it will be reread.
