The author of this book is Franz Ruttner, who was the Director, Lunz Biological Station, Austrian Academy of Science. Translators were D. G. Frey, Indiana University, and F. E. J. Fry, University if Toronto. The English translation of the Third Edition was copyrighted by University of Toronto Press in 1963.
