The Truth about Islam is indeed 4000 years overdue. Since about the time, religions started to become a point of focus in the management of man's chaotic behavior. Yet again, the truths their early masters tried to communicate were lost in man's struggles for material and social power, more divisions are being formed and conflicts seem to be ever intensifying. Somewhere, the point is missed. This book goes straight to the roots of such great unnaturalness in man's behavior. Presenting methods and exercises that have been introduced by some of the greatest men to have lived, and sadly, whose records in history have been almost wiped out.

Not clear enough. jumbled ideas. I couldn't figure out what he wants to say.

I was initially pleasantly surprised to learn about Mr. Kilani’s interest in Islam and I expected to have found a fellow student of Islamic Studies. I anticipated reading about Mr. Kilani’s studies, perhaps he had spent some time in Cairo, Mecca or Madinah. There was no mention of any studies. Instead I read this in the introduction of his book:

“These words have resided in my heart for years. Seeing and recognizing the very little of knowledge I had made me hesitate however… I am yet aware of the little of knowledge I have, but I know that these words can at least enlighten a heart, and for that reason they have flown.”

I was shocked to say the least. Mr. Kilani admits here that he has little knowledge about this subject, he doesn’t mention any study or experience in the field of Islamic Studies, and still he wrote and published a book with the bold title “The Truth about Islam”?! How can enlightenment occur without knowledge? Nonetheless, I read the book and indeed, Mr. Kilani’s little knowledge about Islam ran rampant.

The author mentions that “pride is nothing but a desperate attempt to assign value to one’s self.” This quote is promising in the sense that Mr. Kilani may be open to critique and feedback which will hopefully inspire him to a) learn about Islam (or any topic) before writing, let alone publishing about it, and b) to express himself in more humble ways by avoiding titles as “The TRUTH about…” or “A book that is 4000 years overdue”.

Anyone with the least amount of intellectual foundations understands that knowledge precedes speech and action. I could write a book about physics which I would publish as “The Truth about Physics” in which I would lyrically express my opinion about black holes and quantum physics. This vain and insane effort would eventually only lead to “The Truth about Me’’; i.e. I don’t know what I’m talking about and anyone who buys into my words will be sucked into a black hole of painful ignorance. The truth is that Allah, the Most High, has warned us against speaking about matters of which we have little or no knowledge as has come in this verse from the Noble Quran:

"And follow not (O man i.e., say not, or do not or witness not) that of which you have no knowledge. Verily! The hearing, and the sight, and the heart, each of those will be questioned (by Allah)." (Al-Israa: 36)

Finally, I would NOT recommend this book to anyone who is genuinely interested in learning about Islam. This book will take you far away from the teachings of the Noble Quran and the teachings of the Prophet Mohammed (may Allah send peace and blessings upon him). It will only waste your time by means of subjective opinion, sophistry, and amateur psychology and philosophy (page fillers).
